Pinay in Action Visayas leg on April 11 to have 3K, 5K and 10K races

The Visayas leg of Pinay In Action, an all women run, will be held in Cebu City this April 11, and will feature the 3-kilometer, 5-kilometer, and 10-kilometer distances.

Men can join the run if they register with a female participant, but they won’t be eligible to win in any category. (Correction race organizer Kenneth Casquejo contacted me to say that male runners can win but only the top 3 spots of the 5K and 10K races)

Registration fee is P250 and is inclusive of a race number, route map, souvenir shirt, and a goodie bag. Runners may register at the Mabolo branch of Leona’s Bakeshop from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Go for Green Eco-Fun Run offers top prizes, raffles

The Cebu Tourism and Travel Association (CTTA) and Cebu Association of Tour Operators (CATO) will stage the first Tourism Eco-Fun Run “Go for Green” at the Asiatown IT Park in Lahug, Cebu City on Nov. 29.

The Go for Green fun run will have 3K, 5K and 10K races. The registration fee for the run is P180, which is inclusive of the race singlet. The registration centers for the race are in Southwind Travel in JY Square, Grand Hope Travel in SM City, Adventure Travel in Ayala Center Cebu and the Philippine Sports Commission 7 office at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Cebu Lakandula Lions Club to hold 3K, 10K races

Cebu Lakandula Lions Club will be holding Roar to Grow, its second fun run of the year, this Sunday, Nov. 15 at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu. The run will have 3K and 10K races.

The event, according to a report by The Freeman, will not allow pacers for the runners. In the first run sponsored by the group in August, the top runners of Cebu were not allowed to join. The group said they wanted to give new runners a chance to shine.

The winners of the 10K run in the men’s and women’s categories will each get P5,000. The second placers will get P3,000 each while the third places will receive P2,000 each. The 4th to 10th placers will get P500 each. The winners will also receive trophies and medals.

The winners of the 3K race in the men’s and women’s categories will each get P3,000 for 1st placers, P1,500 for 2nd placers and P1,000 for 3rd placers. The 4th to 10th placers will each get P200.

The registration fee is P200, inclusive of singlets. Those who want to join can register at Zone 360 in Park Mall and Mango Avenue, Philippine Sports Commission office in the Cebu City Sports Center and at Casa Ilongga in Robinson’s Place-Cebu.

Barangay Lahug to stage 3K, 6k, and 12K runs in Running MAD 2

SIX months after holding its inaugural run, Barangay Lahug will hold Running MAD 2 on Nov. 22 at 5:45 a.m., officials announced in a press conference yesterday afternoon. The event will hold races for 3 kilometers, 6K and 12K.

Lahug Barangay Captain Mary Ann de los Santos said the run is meant to encourage people to adopt a fit and active lifestyle.
