On the run in the beautiful island
Announcing Cebu Running
Just like anywhere else in the world, Cebu is in a running boom. Go to the Cebu City Sports Center in early in the morning or late in the afternoon and you’d see scores of people walking, jogging, and running around the rubberized track oval.
Go to either of the Mandaue-Mactan bridge early in the morning and you’d see joggers crossing it.
It has come to a point that for the past months, every Sunday had a scheduled race or fun run in Cebu. There were even Sundays when two different runs were scheduled. There are some people in the running community who are worried, and rightly so.
But all these running only show the extent of the sport’s adoption in the island.
I started running in late April and my wife followed a few weeks later. We have not stopped since. As with anything that catches our interest, we ultimately want to start a website about it. And thus was Cebu Running set up.
Cebu Running is an online magazine that hopes to cover the fastest growing sport in Cebu. We are still starting the site and will be adding articles soon but feel free to send us comments and suggestions on topics you think this website should cover.
